Sara, with Helping Hands Homeless Shelter, was on-hand to receive a $1,200 donation the SAHBA raised during the 2011 Tour of Homes. We also recognized all of our Associate Members during Associate Appreciation Month. |

2009 Springfield of Dreams Softball Outing This outing was so much fun! The Homebuilder Hitters won the championship, but every team played competitively. Thanks to all the volunteers and Secret Recipes for their great ballpark fare. |

Golf Outing 2009 The 2009 Annual SAHBA Golf Outing was an incredible experience and great success! This year the event was held at Edgewood Golf Course in Auburn, Illinois. Player spots were COMPLETELY sold out with 236 players in teams of 4. We had incredible sponsorships that really made everything worthwhile. The delicious food was catered by Secret Recipes out of Chatham, Illinois. A special thanks to the more than 30 volunteers who made everything run smoothly and efficiently. |

May 2009 May's GMM meeting was again well attended. Bill Boils with Huff lumber, Sudi Blood with Re/Max professionals, and Matthew Von Behren with Illinois Real Estate Title Center were introduced as new members of SAHBA. May sponsor, David Drennan
with United Community Bank, gave a presentation to members on the great services and offers that UCB has for our community. Dean Graven achieved LIFE spike status and Allan Anderson reached Blue spike status. Keegan Ward of Taylorvile and Derek Betzer of Pleasant Plains were awarded the construction honor award and received $1,000 each to the continuing education of their choice. |

Green Home & Garden Show 2009 The Green Home & Garden Show was extremely
successful featuring 48 exhibitors, 13 seminars
and many more offerings for the public to enjoy
while learning about sustainability.
The event raised over $4500 for Southwind Park
from the SAHBA. Hundreds of canned goods were
donated to St. Martin de Porres with a gift in return
of poppy seeds which were donated from America
in Bloom. The response from consumers and
media was very complimentary for the future of our
community in the field of Green.

April 09 GMM April’s GMM, sponsored by Prairie Insulation, was held at the Inn at 835 and was very well attended. Our featured speaker, Butch Elzea, gave an invigorating presentation about Southwind Park and all the amazing features it will bring not only to our community but to the entire Nation. |

Casino Night 2009 Our 3rd annual Casino Night offered a new look, great food and fun for all present. The hard work and planning from the SAHBA PAC committee showed throughout the evening resulting in more PAC funds raised than our previous events. We were also honored with special guests: Senator Larry Bomke, Representative Brauer, Representative Poe, City of Springfield’s Paul O’Shea, Alderman Debbie Cimarossa, Alderman Steve Dove, Alderman Tim Griffin and County Recorder Josh Langenfelder. |

Home Expo 2009 The 2009 Home expo was an incredible success. There were just around 4,000 total attendees and both space and sponsorships sold out. There was increased media exposure throughout the event, and a 20-page insert in the SJ-R proved the strength of our membership to the community. Huge awareness was created for Habitat for Humanity, Animal Protective League, and St. Martin de Porres. Exhibitors created one of the most beautiful shows we have ever seen thanks to the amazing booths that were displayed all over. A big thanks to the committee and volunteers that kept everything coordinated, organized and energetic. |
